OpenInfra Days Vietnam 2018 là sự kiện về Open Infrastructure lần đầu được tổ chức tại Việt Nam. Chủ đề của năm nay là “Chia sẻ và cộng tác”.
Tại Việt Nam, việc ứng dụng OpenStack vẫn trong giai đoạn phát triển và vẫn tiếp tục gia tăng. Hiện nay các công ty áp dụng OpenSack ở Việt Nam chủ yếu là các doanh nghiệp lớn, các công ty Viễn thông. Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher và các công nghệ nguồn mở cũng đang kết hợp với OpenStack để xây dựng lên Open Infrastructure.

The OpenStack Infra team runs one of the world’s largest Open Source CI/CD systems in service of OpenStack’s early decision to mandate that all merges only be performed by automation if and only if all tests pass. Accomplishing this at scale involves a combination of software and policy.
Zuul is the software engine developed to handle this.
Zuul is not OpenStack specific. With the rise of microservices and kubernetes, the number of multi-repo projects is increasing, as is the need for CI systems that understand them. The most recent version of
Zuul has been reworked to make it easy for other people, communities or organizations to harness its power regardless of any relationship with OpenStack.
We’ll talk about the things that make Zuul special - multi-repository dependencies, optimistic branch prediction and deep Ansible integration. And we’ll walk through how to get started with a private or a public Zuul.
Cloud-native is an approach to building and running applications that exploit the advantages of the cloud computing delivery model. Along with building cloud platform, in Viettel, we're also transforming our legacy application to cloud-native application. Cloud-native is about how we create and deploy applications. We adopted the concept of DevOps, Microservices, CI/CD and Containers to create an eco-system. This talk will present about how we leverage and transforming from legacy to cloud native.
Let's Design An Agile Monitoring Solution For The Containerized OpenStack
Cloud providers are moving toward a new deployment method that is using container technology. The objective is to replace the inflexible, painful, resource-intensive deployment process of the cloud infrastructure with a flexible, painless, inexpensive deployment process. For instance, OpenStack uses the Kolla project to foster the effort and has already reached a mature level which can be used in production. The new software architecture changes how services are connected together. That exposes the cloud platform to many new challenges including resource provision, performance, failure management etc. Therefore, to guarantee the availability and stability of the containerized system, monitoring features have to be considered thoroughly. This presentation discusses many aspects of such agile, plug-and-play, and practical monitoring system.
In spirit of “defense in depth”, more filtering layer more secure which is a real demand of customer to protect their application. So this short talk will bring up new weapon for firewall as a service in neutron network: L7 firewall API. In this session we will answer a question: “Why L7 firewall API is good for your cloud?”. As a standard firewall may only allow HTTP traffic on TCP port 80, but SQL injection attacks will be allowed through as valid HTTP request. How do we protect customer app? OK. let's discuss about: How does L7 firewall API look like? Which protocols L7 firewall API will support? HTTP over TCP only? How to implement L7 firewall API? iptables or bpf? When L7 firewall API will available? Stein? Last but not least, demo as demand.
OpenStack has become more mature and is now one of the major candidate for enterprise cloud infrastructure and various use cases have been reported in Japanese OpenStack community. In this presentation, we will introduce some of the major use cases in Japan including NFV and enterprise private cloud. We will also report the outcomes of the OpenStack Days Tokyo 2018, which will happen in 2-3 Aug. The concept of this year's event is "Towards Cloud Native" and we have expanded the scope of the event to include other Cloud Native projects such as Kubernetes. We will introduce some of the lates use cases and touch on how cloud native technologies are deployed in Japanese market.
A wonderful relationship between Docker and Rancher
Currently Octavia Amphora (Loadbalancer instance) has not mechanism to monitoring and logging as well. So to run Octavia in production environment we have to use monitor and logging for some use case such as measure concurrent request per second or data transfer for each listener.

Crossing IoT platforms for extension problem of smart environments
Internet of Things opens up the possibility for communicating billions of objects as well as human in order to make a world truly connected. Under that movement, many IoT Platforms such as HomeAssistance, OpenHAB, etc. and IoT cloud platforms (IBM Watson IoT, Azure IoT platform, etc.) have been proposed using different information models, communication protocols, cloud infrastructures, etc.. This heterogeneity of the IoT and the missing interoperability is barrier for developers and currently prevent the emergence of broadly accepted IoT ecosystems. Integrating IoT cloud platforms should help to link and to exchange of IoT data, resources and can provide a solution for scaling IoT environment. The project aims to provide a framework to enable the interoperability among heterogeneous IoT applications and/or IoT Platforms. By framework, we mean an approach/method and a set of engineering tools to enable the interoperability and to facilitate IoT applications development.

Istio is open technology that provides a way for developers to seamlessly connect, manage and secure networks of different microservices — regardless of platform, source or vendor.
Service level capabilities like traffic management, tracing/observability, policy, and security implemented by a common framework are valuable tools for application developers and administrators. In this talk we will review creating service meshes made up of services implemented in containers and walk through an example of Istio on OpenStack.

One of our most requested features from our CDN users has consistently been self-service for DNS records. This talk will cover our experiences to design our DNSaaS based on Designate, howto integrate with our CDN solution.

Arm systems provide higher density at lower power consumption ideal for Edge Computing. Arm-base OpenStack clouds could be the solution to Edge Computing use cases. However, is stock OpenStack ready for ARM? Does OpenStack work on ARM as-is? How do the performance number compare?
Using the stock OpenStack source and the installation instructions available on OpenStack.org, we built a Terraform configuration to deploy and performance test from three different hardware systems all baselined against a traditional x86 OpenStack cloud.
We'll be reviewing the results of this testing and recommendations as to how to build an Arm based OpenStack Edge Computing cloud. We'll also touch on the modifications required to stock OpenStack to support Arm as well as how Terraform was used to build these edge nodes.
